God is Our Cherished Lover

In this journey we will have many assaults. We will find that not everyone is our friend. God walks this dusty road with us.

He hears and sees all of this. He listens to our pleas, anguish, tirades. He doesn’t just listen, he feels our broken heart with us. What do we do with all the world’s vindictiveness?

Contrary to the world’s beliefs and “fight back” spirit…we love anyway. When we love our enemy we exhibit the perfect love of God, our Cherished Lover. God’s divine will is to bring all human beings together as children of the Father. How do we complete his perfect will?

The most important thing we can do is listen…..listen to the Father. When he calls us to forgive instead of getting angry. Forgive. Tend to another’s wounds instead of rubbing salt in them, encourage instead of bringing discouragement, bless instead of curse, praise instead of maligning one another. Love instead of hate. Bring hope when all looks hopeless.

In short, when we make God’s unconditional love visible, we diminish violence as we give birth to a LOVE REVOLUTION and a new community. A community of Love.

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:27-28,36 NIV)
