On June 24, 2002, a chartered bus contracted by Metro Church from Garland, Texas, was headed to Louisiana State University for church camp. At precisely 9:10 a.m. outside of Terrell, Texas, it veered off the highway crashing into a concrete bridge support pillar, ripping the bus in two and killing the driver and four teenagers.
