- God Called a Meeting With You in This Book by Janice S. Garey on 5/10/13
I am amazed by Anita Higman's inspired vision and skill which aligns her biblically based character portrayals and action scenes flawlessly with the actual Scripture passages. There is no wondering while reading if the author is true to Scripture. She is. She enhances what is in Scripture with reasonable touches of what would be felt with the five senses if one had been an eavesdropper not only able to hear the words spoken in the Bible passage but also to hear the thoughts of the character. The end of each day's reading poses questions which are thought provoking and worthy of pondering. To get the most from this book add some time to your daily reading session for really digesting and thinking deeply on the questions. You will find spiritual growth occurring from this exercise. I highly recommend this book for both new Christians who are just getting to know the characters in the Bible, and also to well-established Christians who can use some refreshing and enrichment to their spiritual life.

Where God Finds You by Anita Higman
This was the most unique devotional I have ever read, I loved it. The author Anita Higman did an awesome job of bringing the characters to life. She took Bible characters and gave a narrative of the scripture from what their view point could have been. This was so thought provoking. Then she used scripture that pertained to the fictional story and gave a commentary from her point of view. If that was not enough she goes on to list study questions to help us think about the study. This devotional is a set of 40 Bible characters, both men and women. As often as I have heard the story of Joseph I never once thought how he might have felt, his fear, despair and hopelessness. To see how humbled the woman who washed Jesus feet was and how her shame turned to joy. My eyes were opened to the emotions of the Bible characters, this helped me to look deeper into the scripture it was referring too. This is a must read. The author brought a new perspective and insight into the Bible stories we have all read. I give this devotional 5 stars. I am thankful to The Book Club Network and the author for this book in exchange for an honest review.
