When Loves Arrives is the 2nd book in Johnnie Alexander's Misty Willow series

Dani Prescott came to the children's hospital to spy on Brett Somers--so how did she end up on a date with him? Weeks earlier she'd seen an interview in which he blamed her mother for the plane crash that had killed his parents. But the crash had killed her mother as well, so Dani can't believe the story Brett's trying to sell to the media.

Vowing to find a way to discredit the privileged--and maddeningly handsome--Brett, Dani has been following him and taking photos, hoping to find something she can use against him. But when she catches his eye instead, she quickly finds herself offering up a fake name and agreeing to a date. Brett knows this mystery girl is hiding something--but he's got his own secrets to keep. What will happen when he discovers who she really is? Will Dani and Brett look beyond their own heartaches to discover a love that could heal their deepest pain?

I've Got a Secret--or Two! by Becky on 10/10/2016

Brett Somers is handsome, rich and self-assured, and despite never meeting him, Dani is sure he is also cocky and selfish. She plans to put him in his place, publically. Following him, and secretly taking pictures of him might be considered stalking, but Dani believes she is justified in doing it. However, when she begins to put her plan into action, everything starts falling apart.

Somehow, in the midst of her hate campaign, Brett starts talking with her. Meeting him, let alone having a conversation with him, was never part of her plan. Before she knows it, Dani is swept away by him, and finds they have many things in common. To make it worse, Dani discovers Brett and her are forming a relationship. At the very least, they have become friends, but possibly even more than friendship is growing between them.

Dani finds herself in quit a predicament. Although she had been determined to dislike Brett, she finds herself caring for him, a lot. Also, because of him, she has a good job and a safe place to live. If the truth comes out about her original plans to discredit him, or if her mother's name is discovered, Dani is sure all the good things in her life will tumble down like a house of cards. Can Dani keep her secrets from Brett? If Brett discovers the truth, can he forgive her? Will Brett show her mercy since, in the past, he kept lots of secrets himself?

This story-line captured my attention from the beginning. When Love Arrives is the second installment of the Misty Willow series. With some reservations, this book can be enjoyed without reading the first one. That is because there are a few story-lines from book one that are never quite explained in this one, leaving the reader frustrated. I did not care for how many things brought out "the green eyed monster" in Dani. It made me wonder how she could possibly be a likable person with so many jealousy issues. Also note the plot includes an out-of-wedlock child, and a past promiscuous lifestyle. Details about it are not given, and the behavior is treated as something that brought pain and difficult consequences. This 5-star book is recommended to those who like modern-day romances written from a Christian point-of-view.

When Love Arrives is the second book in Johnnie Alexander's Misty Willow series. On the opening pages, you are introduced to the main characters of this book, Dani Prescott and Brett Somers. You soon learn that Dani is stalking Brett to gain information that she can use against him. Dani's mother was the pilot of the plane that crashed years ago killing all aboard the plane, including Brett's parents. Dani and Brett have had to cope with growing up without their parents. After Dani hears Brett publicly blaming the crash on her mother, her goal in life becomes reaching out and publicly humiliating Brett Somers himself!

When Dani is secretly taking pictures of Brett outside a children's hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Brett suddenly asks Dani to join him at a local movie theater; and you have no idea what events will follow. Before you know it, Dani becomes more involved with Brett's life than you ever would have imagined. When Dani uncovers a secret that could ruin Brett's reputation, you have no idea what she will do. Brett has just learned that he has a sick child behind the walls of that hospital!

How will Brett respond when he finally learns who Dani's mother is? How will Dani react when it appears that Brett is literally turning his back on her? Watch as both Brett and Dani must learn to trust in their awesome God to lead them through this rough patch in both of their lives!

Can people really change? by Ann on 9/18/2016

WHEN LOVE ARRIVES is the first book I have read by Johnnie Alexander, but it will not be the last. It has some complexity of characters where they are working through the good as well as the bad in their lives. Dani spent years in various foster homes after she was left with her step-father when her mother was killed in a plane she was piloting. Now she is going to find something damaging about the man whose parents were also killed in that private plane. Brett came out saying it wasn’t an accident and that the pilot killed his parents, and his aunt and uncle who were on the plane. The problem is he spots her with the camera, makes conversation not knowing who she is, and thus begins their “friendship” because neither one is interested in dating. His history is one of a playboy, but she is finding a very different person who is kind and thoughtful. Brett has become a different man, and Dani is bringing out the best in him. Dani is that good hearted, blushing woman, but she is hiding the secret that her mom was the pilot and that when Brett first saw Dani, she was spying on him. So what happens when a rather good woman keeps a secret that she came to wreck him, but finds herself coming to like him – a bit too much? And what happens to a guy who has just discovered he has a son w ho is in a coma in the hospital and has sworn off dating- but enjoys the company of a woman completely different than others he has used?
How do people work through anger toward someone? Can a man really change from a life of “use them and leave?” Can people really forgive someone who has hurt them? Read this book to discover a story of “get back at someone” or really care about the person. I recommend this book for a good simple Christian fiction read which is not preachy, but filled with a good message.

I received this book from the publisher for this honest review.

When love arrives GOD is it by Carol on 8/24/2016

This is a story of love, loss, grief, pain, preservation of memories, restoration, reconciliation and GOD is right in the middle of all of it, as well HE  should be.  This is one of the most tender hearted stories I have read in a long time - it is about a girl Dani whose mother was a pilot whose plane crashed and she was flying Brett's parents and all of them died.  Brett, a playboy in his own rights, blamed Dani's mother for the crash.  Dani then makes a plan to get back at him, well as you know plans do not always turn out to work the way we want to - GOD always has another one - so they get to know each other and start to fall for each other = each of them have a past -  and he finds out what she was planning to do - will she decide to stay and fight or will so go?
