"When Grace Sings" is the second book in Kim Vogel Sawyer's Zimmerman Restoration Trilogy. It helps to have read "When Mercy Rains," the first book, but if there has been some time between reading the books, the details are slowly worked back into the story.
Alexa Zimmerman owns a bed and breakfast inside her grandmother's home in an Old Order Mennonite community. Her peaceful world is rattled by a long-term out-of-town guest and the potential new neighbors. After finally feeling accepted by her mother's family, these new guests test not only her graciousness, but also her greatest desire: love.
The story moves calmly, which follows the author's style, and the pace of the community comes through in the details. It is easy to relax and be pulled into the characters' stories. By the end of the book, you will have enjoyed the journey and will be sad to say goodbye, even for a short period, until "When Love Returns," the final book in the series, is available.
