- it's a keeper by Tanya on 3/17/2013
Cheri Fuller is a motivational speaker and award-winning author of forty two books and this is the first book I have read. It is very warm and positive. Even though it addresses similar issues to those in other books, it stands out with its authentic view, stories and love for moms and boys. This book gives good tips on how to build your son's character, how to respond to his behavior in different situations, the importance to pray for him and how not to raise a mommy's boy. It has practical practical help for moms who have sons of all ages. In the end of each chapter there are questions to think about. This book is a keeper, if you have boys. It is something to go back to for advise.
My favorite line is from a chapter about communication skills: " As his mom repeated, " I was listening," the boy put his little hands around her cheeks and asked, " But, Mommy, would you listen with your face?" Priceless.
P.S. I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishers for review purposes.
