- Beautiful Book! Great quality. by Liz from WomanlyWoman.com on 11/18/2014
I like to read books to my nieces and nephews and I know, especially for the little ones, that the pictures are very important. The graphics are great! They really bring the story to life.
The book itself is very nice. I was surprised when it arrived that it is a very high quality thick hardcover, almost like a college textbook. I'm sure that this book would last a lifetime and would be able to be passed down to the next generation.
And the stories themselves are very creatively crafted!
- An Amazing Treasure by Ginger on 10/8/2014
Treasury of Bible Stories, by Kelly Pulley is an amazing treasure. As a grandmother of a little girl, and of twin boys to come, I want to do my best to get them involved at a young age to know God. To know of his wonderful grace.
There are 20 stories that were retold from the bible. The illustrations are perfect. I was concerned before I read through it that some of it would be off. However, I did not find anything that would not be true. The Treasury of Bible Stories was written to entice the younger generation to want to read and listen.
Jacks favorite story so far is God's Bigger Plan. It is the story about Queen Esther that is based on chapters 2-10 in the book of Esther. Jacks loves to just look at the illustrations while I read to her. She can sit for hours just listening. As a book lover, that is so fine by me.
I give Treasury of Bible Stories 5 stars. I find that the stories are about spot on and that it will be a wonderful addition to your bookshelf. I know it is mine.
I received this book in hopes of an honest review on my blog My MisMatched World
- Great for the whole family to enjoy together by SavingsInSeconds.com on 10/8/2014
This is a great way to prepare for Sunday worship! Spend a few minutes reading a story or two with your kids. The illustrations are cute and whimsical. Each Bible story is playfully written in verse. One thing I appreciated about the book was that the pages didn't have too many lines. Short stories are perfect for young readers because of several reasons. First, we can squeeze in "just one more!!" and still be in bed on time. Second, the shorter stories hold my kids' interest. And finally, it's easier for the kids to remember the stories for our family discussions. Consider donating a copy of this book to your church library or nursery!
The Biblical tales will also appeal to older children. When reading the Rhythmical Rhymes with your older child, focus on the rich vocabulary. Discuss ways that the illustrations help to tell the story. You could also introduce literary concepts such as rhyme scheme. This book offers an opportunity for everyone in your home to enjoy time to grow as a spiritual family.
I received this book to review. The opinions shared here are 100% mine.
