How to Think, Act, & Be

THINK. What do I believe?
What you believe drives everything. The way you behave, the habits you form, the character that defines you at your core – all are driven by what you believe. It’s not enough to believe something as the right answer; you must believe it as a way of life. BELIEVE helps you understand the key beliefs of Christianity that, when embraced in the mind and heart, create true change in our individual lives, in the church, and in the world.

ACT. What should I do?
Understanding what you believe is just the beginning. To become like Jesus, your beliefs need to not only inform you but also transform you. It is the practice of reaching up to God and out to others that drive beliefs from your head…to your heart. BELIEVE teaches you the life-giving spiritual disciplines that will lead you in fulfilling your mission to love God and love your neighbor.

BE. Who am I becoming?
Jesus wants us to bear fruit that glorifies God and brings great joy to us and to others. For this to happen, we must remain in Christ. And the longer we remain in community with Christ, the more spiritual fruit, or virtues, we will produce. BELIEVE illuminates the virtues – the outward life changes in us – that are formed by the 10 beliefs and cemented through the 10 practices. It is a grand cycle that shapes us into the image of Christ more and more every day.

Very quick read, useful and pragmatic by Carmen on 8/7/2015

Think, Act, Be Like Jesus is broken down into thirty short chapters, broken down into "What Do I Believe?", "What Should I do?" and "Who Am I Becoming?". It is thoughtful, insightful and very practical. We are all a "work in progress", and this book helps us delve deeper into what that work in progress is and how to change course if needed. It also focuses on strengthening our faith that God loves us and is truly in control.

Really puts everything into perspective. by Deborah on 8/6/2015

If you have never quite understood the point of becoming a christian and the ensuing responsibilities and perks thereafter, you need to check this book out. Very easy to understand and broken down in a way that leads you step by step to the ultimate conclusion that God IS love and He wants us all to experience His love and share and reveal it to others. If you explore this book you will learn what it means to "think, act and believe like Jesus" and will be well on your way to fulfilling the greatest commandments given by Jesus, which were to love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

Great read! by Paul on 7/29/2015

Raw, insightful, thought provoking read. Pastor Randy has penned a riveting and challenging book all should get into their hands. A well known verse “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15 was quoted, but the sentence prior to this verse was the AHA moment that challenge me the most “But serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourself this day whom you will serve.”
