In first-century Palestine, the physician Luke is on a mission to save the life of his friend Paul. His task: chronicling the life of a carpenter’s son from Nazareth named Jesus. In this fictionalized "story behind the story" of Luke’s Gospel, Luke searches for firsthand witnesses to the miracles and controversies surrounding the man they call "the Christ."

Be an eyewitness to Luke’s quest for the truth in this Radio Theatre production featuring England’s finest actors and cinema-quality sound design. The Life of Jesus: Dramatic Eyewitness Accounts from The Luke Reports will spark your imagination with the story of what might have been behind the writing of Luke’s gospel.

Part One:
The life of the apostle Paul hangs in the balance as Luke, his trusted friend, is commissioned by a sympathetic Roman senator to find and report the truth about the life and ministry of Jesus. Luke finds himself in the thick of thieves and revolutionaries, and also has an encounter with Mary as she recounts the memories surrounding Jesus’ miraculous birth.

Part Two:
Luke becomes a pawn in a murderous game of political intrigue between Romans and Zealots. His probing investigation becomes a catalyst for murder, causing him to flee for his life.

Part Three:
Luke continues his assignment to report to the Roman senator, Theophilus, on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Luke, driven by his desire to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, heads for Jerusalem. Once there, he winds up in a spiritual battle with a "magician," meets an old friend, and is swept up in the revolution against the Romans. Follow Luke as he discovers Elias’s scrolls that tell much of the life and story of Christ.

Part Four:
Luke the physician continues his life-and-death struggle to write the truth about Jesus amid personal despair and what threatens to be an unprecedented fight between the Romans and Zealots. Only with the help of a stranger on the road might there be help - and hope.

Originally produced in four volumes as The Luke Reports.
