Wonderful Book by christy on 11/10/2015

This book is a wonderful gift to give someone who you know is really struggling. The layout of the book is amazing especially the journal pages at the end of the book.
In this book Strobel attempts that true hope is real. When we have hope in God he is willing and able to lead the way. To me the overall message is to let us know why holding on to hope is so crucial. We trust in the hope of Jesus and how that hope can change our lives forever. My favorite was the section on doubt. Where he makes it clear doubt is not a sin. Doubt does damage, but God can use doubt to produce positive side effects. Doubt can be healthy for us by helping us to guard against our own gullibility. God does not condemn is when we ask questions.
As Strobel puts it so well when trying to hold on to hope in the midst of spiritual doubt turn Pauls words into prayer.
God does not condemn us when we ask questions. A must read this book really came at a time I needed it!!!

I've just finished reading The Case for Hope by Lee Strobel. The book itself is a beautiful gift book - hardbound, compact size, thick paper pages, and even a place in front with TO: and FROM: spaces. Strobel lays out what hope is, where we can find it, and what it means to us. It's well-written, applicable to both Christians and those yet to be saved, with evidence of God's existence, in order to convince the reader that there is great reason to have hope, both for this life and the next. I actually read the book twice, the second time with a pen in hand, to underline the bible verses because I really like how Strobel gives life to ancient biblical text, making them applicable to how society lives today. I devoured the section called Tapping Into God's Power and Strobel's "Five A's," that are steps we can take when we are feeling a loss of hope. I know that I will go back to those pages again and again. Forging through life can be a daily challenge, but with a solid foundation of hope we can be courageous. Strobel shows us many ways we can feel confident, even in our darkest days. I also appreciated Strobel's discussion of doubt, something I know many people struggle with. It gave me great peace. I was delighted to discover the 30-Day Journey of Hope journal in the back of The Case for Hope. Each day provides a bible verse to ponder about, and a space to write down thoughts and prayers. It's a great way to do something tangible during daily devotions. The Case for Hope is a great gift idea. I look forward to reading more of Strobel's books.
