Sober Faith addresses the pressures Africa-American girls face to stay away from drugs and alcohol and remained devoted to God. Payton Skky has gotten over her ex-boyfriend and is now dating a strong Christian, Tad, who is keeping her accountable. Her friends, however, are still struggling with their identity and exactly what is right and wrong. Chasing after fun they discover alcohol and drugs. They spend time experimenting without thinking of the consequences. Payton wants to help her friends realize the dangers in what they are doing, but she also wants to be accepted by them. Can she do both? How far is too far? What about Tad, who doesn't approve of what Payton's friends are doing? Can she help her friends without compromising her faith? Moody Press, in partnership with The Institute for Black Family Development, is launching a new joint imprint--Lift Every Voice. The vision for this endeavor is to see African-American Christians encouraged in their faith in Jesus Christ through quality books written by African Americans. While Moody Press already publishes several African-American authors, such as Tony Evans, Crawford Loritts, and Clarence Shuler, Life Every Voice products will be targeted almost exclusively toward African Americans.
