Set Apart

Synopsis The city is all these kids have ever known. What passes for normal in their world goes against everything we hope and pray for when it comes to the next generation. Fortunately, there are caring, God-honoring people that lead high-impact ministries who are willing to risk it all to help kids like Rey, Korina, Marcus, and Anthony. Now these kids must face the toughest decision of their lives: Is the hope of redemption enough to lure them away from the streets? Set Apart combines the action and excitement of a Western with the laughter of a comedy to become a poignant coming-of-age drama. Four inner-city kids are each at a crossroad in their young lives; their decisions and actions could set them down life's slippery slope. Fortunately, Pastor John Gunn (John Schneider) and his Power Company Kids' ministry are watching out for them. Even he knows, however, that the city is the last place these four should be. So he asks his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Heidi Gunn (playing themselves), to help out by showing these city kids "The Cowboy Way."
The Gunns and the kids agree to try it out ... some more willingly than others! As they hit the road for the wide-open expanses of the mountains, little do these kids realize that a summer of adventure, challenge, training, growth, and big dreams will change their outlook on life. Yet they still can't leave the city completely behind ... especially when gang members track them down to exact revenge. Rey, Korina, Marcus, and Anthony head West thinking the city is their friend. On the ranch, they discover what true friendship is all about. Set Apart ... Coming to DVD September 22
