I also learned a lot, some of the stuff blew my mind but the only thing about his writing is that I had to re-read some of his stuff, trying to absorb things that never came to mind before can be a bit to much to grasp, so I had to read it again so I can understand it. Remember you are your own teacher and you don't want to underestimate what he is telling in this book. Because when you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.

My husband is not an avid reader as I am, however, he picked this book up a couple of days ago and starting reading it just to pass time, while waiting for me oneday. He has not put it down. His faith is growing more and more with each passing chapter. I truly recommend this book for those who are unsure about their faith. There a questions asked that make you really think. For my dad's birthday this year, I bought it for him, he has started reading it and checking out the corresponding online videos. He has had nothing but good things to say about it. It's an amazing book, and changes the perspective on what it means to be a Christian. It might offend those of you who were like me at a point in my life, going to church and thinking I had everything figured out, that I was a good christian because I went to church EVERY Sunday, and I sang the choir. This takes Christianity to a whole new level. The level that Jesus lived at. The level we should be aspiring to live at every moment of our lives. Be prepared, when you pick up this book, to say good-bye to a life of half hearting it, and surrender to the awesome CRAZY LOVE of a Father who loves us more than anything we can imagine. I can't believe the power that God imparts in this book. People think they know what love is and how to love, and some just might. This book will not only describe it to you in detail, but will also show you and encourage you in what it really means to love. The primary focus of the book is of course Love, and giving God your best. Isn't that what we do when we truly love someone. You jump through hoops for them, are happy just being near that person, and desire a closer relationship with that person. When I first got the book I thought what a great idea a book that talks about what it means to truly love God. When I started reading it I thought I might not be ready for this kind of life changing love. To many times in my own life I have given God leftovers like a begrudging tithe, a quick impersonal prayer, maybe even sing a praise song. Was it my best? Was it even much of an effort at all? Sometimes. When I finished "Crazy Love" I felt it sharpen my focus and lead to a better understanding and perspective. Because that's what really happens to us we loose perspective. The perspective that God brings through Chan is sharp, decisive and powerful. I can't count how many times I had to stop reading to praise God and consider what was just said. This is one of the most challenging and edifying books I have read in a long time. In the spirit of Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper, it is a book that has changed my life. If you take it seriously you will not view your life the same. It doesn't bash the American Church but does challenge American Christianity's self-centeredness like John Piper. I'm buying some for friends and family so they are changed by it too. It has a neat feature of videos that correlate with the chapters at www.crazylovebook.com.
