Kingdom Of ComfortDeliriousUK Worship band Delirious? returns with their new studio album Kingdom of Comfort. With over 1 million career sales, Delirious? music has impacted the church worldwide with such worship anthems as I Could Sing of Your Love Forever, Majesty, Shout to the North, and Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble. Kingdom of Comfort finds the band wrestling with what it truly means to follow Christ, and the kingdom of comfort that Christians can get caught in. Track Listing:

Stand out tracks include the anthemic "Love Will Find A Way", the foot stomping "Give It What You Got", and the poignant "Stare the Monster Down", which includes a reference to the time when Stu G's father had cancer. It is a deeply personal album, reflecting the spiritual journeys of Martin Smith, Stu G, Smeezer, Tim Jupp & Jon Thatcher, and as such is more authentic, relating real experiences to the listener. The full hardback book (available with the UK release) gives more details on the stories behind the songs. However, the USA release includes the extra track "We Give You Praise" (Radio Mix), which is not on the UK version. Unfortunately UK radio won't accept music that's Christian (or at least that's the impression they give!) Each version is unique, and I would strongly recommend (if expense allows) that true fans purchase both releases. All in all a truly excellent album, and if you get the opportunity to see them live, do it! 223 out of 454 visitors found this review helpful. Did you find this review helpful? Sometimes delirious? is my favorite Christian band. They can achieve such grandeur with their music; they can write some truly poignant, intimate songs. At times they really rise above the musical mediocrity that defines the majority of contemporary Christian music. And sometimes...they just really let me down. Kingdom of Comfort is by no means a terrible album. It just isn't that good. It's typical, textbook delirious?, something we've heard over and over again now. Nothing really fresh, nothing just infectiously listenable. It almost goes somewhere great, like the opening verses of "We Give You Praise," but then sinks back down into boring, familiar chord progressions. I don't want to knock the album's message or lyrics. It's a powerful call to abandon our materialism and comfort and embrace the life of a servant and pauper that our Savior embodied. Unfortunately, these convicting words are carried by mostly tired, uninteresting rock ideas. What once were such moving and achingly beautiful words from this band become cliché as Martin begins "How Sweet the Name" singing "What would I have become...". I realize there's room to revisit timeless sentiments and expressions of praise, but this album just feels kind of derivative. I really do love delirious?. They just seem to be hit-and-miss. Kingdom of Comfort, in my opinion, misses. (My experience with Family Christian Stores, however, was a hit! They threw in a free copy of "King of Fools," and both CDs arrived in the mail the DAY this album hit the stores. Awesome service!) 257 out of 524 visitors found this review helpful.
