If you want to feel close to God and truly experience the passion that is written in the Psalms, this will become one of your favorites. Acoustic, flamenco guitar, Middle Eastern touches...this is one of those rare groups that truly has a unique sound. Also wonderful is the the Sons of Korah LIVE DVD. This group is reallly great to have as background music while doing devotionals. 149 out of 285 visitors found this review helpful. Did you find this review helpful? and Sons of Korah do cause praise to God. Sons of Korah is a fantastic australian band who takes the psalms and expresses them the way they are supposed to be experienced: in music. and a fine job they do. although fine sounds like just ok. they are brilliant, talented musicians and songwriters. and never fear about losing the meaning of the texts or misinterpreting Scriptures, they usually follow NIV, a middle ground for word-for-word translation and thought-for-thought. and the lead singer has a degree in theology and is a pastor so even if some fuzzy cultural differences are usually in the text, he has a good amount of knowledge of Jewish context and culture back then to accurately and safely interpret. but thats not common, usually it follows the text. in short, dont worry about how they word the psalms, which is saying something coming from me who cares about wording and who hates versions like The Message and NLT (no offense to those who use these versions, you can, i dont) and sticks with NASB. this is a great way to memorize psalms as well. you will learn them just by singing along. i have all their cds and i know many psalms by heart which has been such a blessing. in short, buy this cd, but dont stop there. buy the rest of their material as well. my family loves this group. im sure you will appreciate them as well 158 out of 317 visitors found this review helpful. Did you find this review helpful? Outstanding musicianship all around. Definitely not common "cookie cuter" so called "Christian Band". It is a shame Family Christian Stores don't feature them more in their stores. Musical roots include old arabic, spanish, jazz, with a zest of blues/rock. There is a soul to their music. 180 out of 350 visitors found this review helpful. Did you find this review helpful? Other titles by Sons of Korah
