Combining content from Bread and Wine, Cold Tangerines, and Bittersweet, as well as new writing and recipes, this devotional from Shauna Niequist speaks spiritual truths to women in short passages that invite us to connect with God and the goodness He created all around us.
Shauna loves gathering people around the table, and loves words that connect us to one another and to an awareness of God’s presence. She writes about the beautiful and broken moments of everyday life—friendship, family, faith, food, marriage, love, babies, books, celebration, heartache, and all the other things that shape us, delight us, and reveal to us the heart of God.

- Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this devotional every morning! by Emily on 6/4/2015
Shauna has one of those gifts as a writer that makes you feel like you are sitting right next to her, chatting and drinking a cup of coffee. That style of writing is definitely obvious in this devotional. Very simple to understand, you will hear stories that are familiar to you as a mother, woman, and Christ follower. Although this isn’t an in-depth study of scripture, Shauna does place a verse of the day to meditate on for you, as well as questions to reflect upon during your day. I am a big fan of journaling, so those questions are a perfect place to write down your thoughts and “chew” on them throughout the day. Pull up a chair, grab your cup of coffee, and enjoy this devotional!
- This book is beautiful inside and out. by Traci on 5/24/2015
The first thing you’ll appreciate about the book, Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are, is its lovely appearance. Nice, solid binding with a classic, textured cover. The blue edge on the thicker paper making up the pages inside add to its elegance. It would make an excellent gift.
Open the book and you can appreciate how author Shauna Niequist has a way with words.
“Even as I write these words, I can feel myself sitting taller, squaring my shoulders, growing up. I’m changing the story.” (S. Niequist)
Each devotional reading has a traditional layout and lends itself to a daily time of reflection and meditation on God’s Word. Every day ends with a call to action or a question.
“Our bodies are amazing gifts from a loving God. What would it take for you to live well in your body this season?” (S. Niequist)
In this book, Shauna invites her readers to sit down with her and consider all that God has for us. Of course, for her, that means we’d all be sitting down at a table. As an added bonus for her readers, she’s included some personal recipes throughout the book. Pumpkin Banana Anything Muffins, Emily’s Poppyseed Cake, Summer Salad, to name a few.
