A tool to quiet hollywood down by ChristianViewer on 3/18/13

Picked up the new TV Guardian last week at our local store. They have changed their approach with this model. Interestingly my 501HD model just gave up - it was a noble attempt but it was trying to do too much and the hardware just wasn't robust enough. This model though doesn't try to approach the problem from the inside - it takes a different approach - by simulating the mute of your audio/tv remote control via little sensors that attach to your television/audio's remote sensor. Set up was simple - although there is a little strategy involved getting those little sensors to their destinations through the maze of components you may have. They are inconspicuous though. And while the former option of seeing the closed captioning is no longer an option - I prefer to not hear the profanity! I'll figure out the plot - personally that's a small price to pay. And TVG is only as accurate as the closed captioning of the program. It can only do so much - but I appreciate what it does do - I would most likely not be watching any commercial tv although we watch very little anymore. TV Guardian is the way to go!

Love this product! by Casey on 1/16/13

It is very simple to set up, It catches the majority of the foul language on my DVD Player, (I don't have cable). It was a great investment for our family.

Great for watching movies! by MJ on 1/16/13

We watched "we bought a zoo" the other day with a family and LT muted all bad words. We were very impressed by this technology!

Didn't work for my old TV. by CRZJO on 1/3/13

The TVGuardian LT model arrived today. While it does what it says, the lack of on-screen captions is really a show-stopper. If the mute is just one short cuss word, then there’s no problem. But more often, the cuss word is in the middle of a sentence or two. Without the display of captions, it can be hard to follow the dialogue. And despite the small size, the setup is a bit more complicated than previous TVG models, due to the hassle of teaching it how to mute your TV. If you’ve lost your remote control, it’s really difficult. All in all, I would not recommend this product, but would suggest one of the older TVG products. They are ordinary set top boxes, sturdy construction, and had simple connections. Most of all, they can display text on the screen. Look for models 501 for HDMI sets, or model 401 for the older analog video TV.
