PARABLES
The Mysteries Of God’s Kingdom Revealed Through The Stories Jesus Told
By: John MacArthur
I really love the cover of the dirty lamb because we are all dirty until Jesus cleans us. Nice cover to remind us of how we really are before Jesus comes and cleans us.
I love John MacArthur books. He is a great author of many books, so I was excited when I saw this book for review and couldn’t wait to review it plus the parables of Jesus always fascinated me.
Mr. MacArthur said “There roughly forty of the parables woven into the gospel record.”
The aim of this book is to unfold the depths of the meaning in a representative sampling of Jesus parables, and to analyze the ingenious way he illustrated vital truths with everyday stories. Most of Jesus parables demand some kind of explanation.
The parables that Jesus speaks have two major reasons for why Jesus uses them. First to hide the truth from the self-righteous who are not open to learning the truth. Second it is to reveal the truth to eager learners with child like faith.
He left the Parables of the Prodigal Son excluded because MacArthur has written a whole book it’s called ‘A Tale of Two Sons.”
I liked the fact that Jesus boldy challenged the Pharisees of their authority and clamed supreme authority for Himself.
This book is very valuable, very powerful and gives you insight into the parables of Jesus teaching. There’s a workbook that goes along with this beautiful book to help you grow deeper into Jesus teachings.
I recommend this book highly. I received this beautiful book free from booklook for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else’s.
