I love it. This bible gives you verses to study and explains who or what or where everything is.
- A really good Bible, but not the best by Salina on 8/26/2015
As a member of the Harper Collins book review team I’m reviewing the NKJV Foundation Study Bible: Build Your Life on It.
Containing the complete NKJV text (using up-to-date English while maintaining the literary quality of the KJV), this Bible is one that like the name implies; it provides a foundation for Bible study. Inside you will find concise study notes, theological notes, New King James Version translators’ footnotes, in-text subject headings, words of Jesus in red, book introductions, cross-references, a concordance, and full-color maps of Bible lands.
The rest of this Bible is pretty much straightforward in that it contains the text of the NKJV, and normal study Bible references at the bottom of each page. The maps are located in the back among the last eight pages of the book.
This is a nice sized Bible, not too big, but not too small. It’s fits nicely in the hand without a lot of weight that other hardcover copies have. The biggest negative for me was found in the print. I found it a bit hard to read. The font seemed to blend together and blurred while trying to read it. As someone who prefers a large-print Bible, this copy would be one that I would be unable to use for my own studies. Overall though, I would recommend it to anyone as an entry-level study Bible.
