Lay It Down
by Jennifer Knapp

Full Name: Sarah Lee Groves

First Song (& Age Written): 5 years, a piano song about a dog who will not come to his owner until he hears his good bowl being filled

Favorite Sports Team: Vikings

Read any good books lately? I'm currently reading The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard, but that's more heavy reading. I like short mysteries for brain candy.

Favorite Bible Verse: Isaiah 40: 9 & 10

Family Facts: Husband, Troy, Manager, best-friend; Son, Kirby, full-time baby; Dad, Dwight, campus pastor at Evangel University; Mom, Nancy, elementary principal; sister, Julie, coffee shop manager and expectant mother; bro-in-law, Mick, AT&T all around stud and expectant father; sister Katie, recent college grad with a Psychology degree; Dad and Mom-in-law, Madison and Marlene Groves, reason we live in Minnesota; brother and sister-in-law, Kyle and Lisa, parents to our two nieces and nephew; little brother-in-law, Rory, just starting his own internet business.

Song do you wish you wrote: "History of Us" by Emily Saliers

Hobbies: History keeping-scrapbooks, journals, pictures, interviewing family etc.

If you weren't an artist, what would you be? A teacher of some sort

What is God teaching you now? To live like heaven is as real as my car

If you could meet anyone, who would it be? C.S. Lewis. I would also love to meet family members from generations back.

Favorite Board Game: Balderdash or the Dictionary Game

Favorite Soda: Dr. Pepper

What was the first instrument you learned to play? Violin because they said I didn't have enough wind for a saxophone

Favorite Place: Anywhere family is.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years? Writing music, supporting Kirby (and other children) at whatever he is (they are) good at. I want to be a good mom more than anything else.

Favorite comfort/pig out food: Fig Newtons

Favorite Cartoon: VeggieTales

Must See TV: I'm not sure I would say you "must see" anything on TV-maybe The Andy Griffith Show or MASH

Most cherished possession: That's a hard one. I'm a packrat, so I keep everything. But if my house were burning, I would really only care about my pictures.

Favorite Movie: Mission

Dream Wheels: I'm not a big car person, but I think Jaguars are nice.

If you could be any kind of tree, what would you be? A Dogwood

In your humble opinion, what is the best album ever? These are getting harder! I can't say one. Sting's Soul Cages, Peter Gabriel's So, Amy Grant's Collection, Fred Hammond's Pages of Life, Indigo Girls' self-titled album

What is in your CD player right now? Pierce Pettis' Making Light of It, Fred Hammond's Pages of Life, Jane Kelly Williams' Tapping the Wheel, Over the Rhine's Good Dog Bad Dog

What event from 1999 still influences you today? Getting pregnant!

First question you will ask God when you get to Heaven? So, what do you do with an eternity?

What question do you think He will ask you? This might be too deep for me right now. I'm a new mom who can only think at the most basic level…laundry, diapers, eat, sleep, laundry, diapers, eat, sleep…Ask me again in a few years.

What is the worst song you have ever written? I have many. A few of my favorites are a song about friendship that uses every cliché in the book, a rip-off of El Shaddai, and a very depressing song about loneliness that I wrote in Jr. High.

Chicken or Steak? Steak-medium rare please
