Come
Together
by Third Day

Full Name: Marc Alain Martel

First Song (& Age Written): Cheesy love song I wrote for my girlfriend at age 16 called "Carry Me"

Favorite Sports Team: Gotta stay true to my homies, the Montreal Canadians

Read any good books lately? I read sporadically, but right now I'm trying to make it through Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Recently read a couple o' gooders: Yancey's The Jesus I Never Knew, and Every Man's Battle (Arterburn/Stoeker)—both highly recommended.

Favorite Bible Verse: I don't have one favorite, but one I love to re-read is Titus 2:11-14

Family Facts: Grew up a PK (still am) in a family of 5—eldest of 3.

Song do you wish you wrote: Psalm 23 by David, son of Jesse

Hobbies: Drawing, basketball, jogging, brushing up on my French

If you weren't an artist, what would you be? A student finishing my degree in something I wasn't sure I wanted to do.

What is God teaching you now? Boldness

If you could meet anyone, who would it be? King David around the time he was my age.

Favorite Board Game: Balderdash! My brother is hilarious to play against.

Favorite Soda: Jone's Crushed Melon. Had my first in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

What was the first instrument you learned to play? The peeanner

Favorite Place: On the stage of the Hildebrand Chapel at Briercrest Bible College, playing the Bechstein grand piano when the lights are off and Keith, the night security guy, said I can stay as long as I want.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years? I've never been one to plan anywhere near that far ahead. I would like to be obeying.

Favorite comfort/pig out food: Crepes with bananas, cheese and syrup.

Favorite Cartoon: Looney Tunes

Most cherished possession: I recently had two very nice custom guitars given to me.

Favorite Movie: The Abyss

Dream Wheels: Brand new Volkswagen Jetta

If you could be any kind of tree, what would you be? A maple tree gushing liters and liters of Canadian maple syrup.

In your humble opinion, what is the best album ever? The world might be a different place without The Joshua Tree. Gotta hand it to the Irish.

What is in your CD player right now? Keith Green's The Ministry Years, Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest Hits, Radiohead's Kid A, The Doak Band, the master of our CD.

First question you will ask God when you get to Heaven? That's a tuffy. Hopefully I have a few more years left to think up question #1 for Him. But who knows? Maybe #'s 1 through 1,000 will come blurting out all at once. I think He could handle that.

Must see TV? Haven't watched a lot of TV the last couple years. But I do miss Seinfeld.

What is the worst song you have ever written? A little ditty I wrote in Portland, OR, about a dog posing as poultry, called "Weekend Chicken". Wanna hear it? Here I go…

Chicken or Steak? Never been a steak fan, my dad will attest. Chicken.
