(I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for my honest and thoughtful review.)
I was happy to choose Nick’s book Limitless as my first book to review for WBMPG. In the past I’ve seen many TV interviews Nick has done, and I was always left feeling inspired. Nick may have been born without legs or arms, but he was blessed with amazing parents who loved and encouraged him, and with a gift reach those who are struggling.
What I enjoyed most about this book is how Nick touched on all the conflicts we deal with throughout our lives. All of us encounter feelings of despair, and sadness from time to time.
We all wonder what God’s will and plan is for us. This book taught me that we all need to develop a desire to know God, to trust in Him, and surrender all things to Him so that He can heal the hurts of our past as He transforms us from the inside out.
One of my favorite quotes in the book is:
“You’ll know you’ve found a passion when your talents, knowledge, energy, focus, and commitment come together in a way that excites you like a child with a favorite game or toy. Your work and pleasure become one and the same. What you do becomes part of who you are.”
Since becoming a Christian I’ve spent a lot of time pondering God’s purpose and ministry for my life. I can relate to those who prayerfully seek to know His plan for our lives, but feel as those we haven’t received that answer yet. In this book Nick gives us great advice and counsel as to how we can find those answers for ourselves.
I would recommend this book to everyone and anyone, because who doesn’t face challenges or question God’s will for their lives from time to time? As you read it you’ll find comfort in Nick’s nuggets of wisdom and be lifted up daily with a new perspective on life’s trails.
