With Investigation Destination vacation Bible school, students become secret agents sent out on important missions to discover clues about a special person - the King of Kings. Together, they will investigate Scriptural eyewitness accounts of the King in action.

Every day, the secret agents will start off their investigation at Central Command with worship and singing. Game time in the Agency Gym is sure to keep them focused on the mission at hand and crafts in the training center help remind students of the truths they’ve learned from each mission. They’ll also enjoy snacks in the break room.

Most importantly, students will be sent into the field to five locations around the globe where they’ll follow clues to the King of Kings.

This Investigation Destination Intro Kit for 2013 uses the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible text.

The Mission:
Investigate Biblical eyewitness accounts of the King in action. Investigation Destination turns your students into secret agents, digging up clues about the King of Kings.

The Objective:
Prepare students for the return of the King, challenging them to believe in Jesus and accept Him as Savior and then to choose to trust, follow, love, obey and serve Him. Those who know the Savior will want to tell others about Jesus, our wonderful King.

Daily Missions:

Day 1

• Code Name: Worship
• Bible Story: The King's Birth (Matthew 2:1-14)
• Mystery to Solve: What King has a star and is worthy of worship?
• Focus: Jesus is King and worthy of worship.
• Craft: King of Kings Crown

Day 2

• Code Name: Power
• Bible Story: The King’s Power and Love (John 6:1-21; Mark 10:13-16)
• Mystery to Solve: Is Jesus a King whom you would choose to trust, follow, love, obey and serve?
• Focus: Jesus is King, and His power and love are worthy of our trust.
• Craft: Adventure Photo Frame

Day 3

• Code Name: Praise
• Bible Story: The King’s Triumphal Entry (Matthew 21:1-17; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-40; John 12:12-16)
• Mystery to Solve: Why are the crowds shouting their praise as Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey?
• Focus: Jesus is King and worthy of praise.
• Craft: Paint Your Own Maracas

Day 4

• Code Name: Love
• The King’s Death (John 18:33-19:42)
• Mystery to Solve: Can that be the King standing trial, wearing a crown of thorns, being nailed to a cross?
• Focus: Jesus is King and the Savior of those who believe in Him.
• Craft: String Art Cross

Day 5

• Code Name: Alive!
• Resurrection and Return (John 20:1-10, 24-31; Acts 1:8-11; Rev. 22:12, 20)
• Mystery to Solve: Who is the King of Kings and where is He today?
• Focus: Jesus is alive and will return someday for believers.
• Craft: He Lives! Cross

How it Works:

Every day, your secret agents will gather to start their investigation with worship and singing. During Bible Exploration time, students divide into age-related groups to head into the field, visiting five international locations as they follow clues to the King of Kings. After uncovering the clues, they rotate through games, snacks, crafts, activity sheets and a music & missions time - each featuring discussion starters to reinforce the salvation message. Finally, they regather to recap the day’s events.

Investigation Destination: Follow Clues to the King of Kings VBS is adaptable to your schedule. Each daily program is designed to last between two and three hours.
