High Point curriculum guides kids grades Kindergarten to 6th grade to be more like Jesus, one biblical character trait at a time. Intentional five-session themes emphasize the same main Point and Bible verse each session. Hands-on activities, Crazy Character skits, and interactive Bible stories make the sessions' truths tangible. Small group times help kids take those truths to heart. Easy-to-lead and flexible for evening programs, midweek, children's church, Sunday school, and more.

Kit includes:
  • Session Guide with CD-ROM of reproducibles: Follow this easy-to-lead guide for five unforgettable gatherings. Fully reproducible, you’ll just copy pages for others as your team grows. Rather print them? Just slip the CD-Rom into your computer.
  • Unit DVD: Countdowns, Takeoff and Landing clips, HighPoint Challenge quiz questions, and more make a visual impact on the kids-whether you’ve got a tv or big screen.
  • Posters (6 Posters in a set):
    • Theme poster makes a great door decoration or advertisement of an upcoming theme.
    • Life Verse poster lets everyone review in the large group or Connecting Flights area.
    • Four extra posters let you label them for Connecting Flights, Check in, Baggage Claim, or whatever you want.

  • Typical HighPoint Session

    1. Check In: Kids check in and head off for the main large group session.
    2. TakeOff (for large groups, approximately 15 minutes): Every kid gets a window seat when the HighPoint plane takes off for character trait-centered destinations. Things like high-energy songs, media, visits from a crazy character, and object lessons all introduce kids to the session’s Point. Kids also enjoy theHighPoint Challenge—a game-show style review of what they’ve already learned. Kids will hear “What’s the Point!” throughout the session so they remember the main Point about the character trait. Who’s in charge? Pilot, assisted by Crazy Character.
    3. HubTime (for small groups, approximately 10 minutes): Small group discussions and hands-on activities help kids experience the truth in their own lives. Led by an adult Tour Guide, the small group creates the good friends and warm relationships that keep kids wanting to come back week after week. Who’s in charge? Tour Guides, leading groups of 5-8 kids. M
    4. Connecting Flights (approximately 30 minutes): Four or more sites provide hands-on fun to reinforce "What’s the Point!"—things like games, drama, crafts, snacks, and other fun activities. If you’ve got other kids programs going on…play rehearsal, Bible Quiz, choir, girls groups, boys groups…no problem! Just offer those programs as a Connecting Flight.     5. Landing (for large groups, approximately 15 minutes): In most sessions, “What’s the Point!” is reinforced with a Bible story that wraps up the session. But no spectators here! Kids are a part of the story, usually told from a unique perspective or style. When the HighPoint plane touches down, don’t be surprised if you see kids disappointed that HighPoint is over. It’s just like a vacation…you don’t want it to end! Who’s in charge? Pilot
    6. Baggage Claim: As kids “de-board” they make a quick stop to collect their belongings. Anything you want to send home will be kept safely at Baggage Claim—and won’t be a distraction during Landing.

    Highpoint Volunteer Roles
    • Pilot: Leads the large group sessions
    • Crazy Character: Each lesson has a 5-7 minute sketch where the dressed-up character visits the unit's destination and reports back to the large group. The costume is always spelled out in your leader's guide, and the script is provided. Best of all, no memorization is required!
    • Tour Guide: Small group leader that interacts with 5-8 kids. The Hub Time interary tells tour guides what to say, so no outside prep is required.
    • Connecting Flight Leader: Works for volunteers who can only commit for 1 month. Connecting Flight Leaders lead one of the four activities in each unit. Kids rotate to 1 Connecting flight per week

    *General Guideline: 2 adults for the first 10 elementary kids; for every additional 5-8 kids, add one tour guide
