- A call to reevaluate how we reach out to people by theChristianReviewer on 3/3/2016
"Growing God's Church" is a very fascinating book to read as the author has done some updated research on how people are coming to faith in Jesus and also getting involved in a local church. Back in the 80's, Win Arn did some research on this using somewhat similar techniques, but the author Gary L. McIntosh started seeing some differences, so he started an updated survey in the early 2000's. The part that I appreciated most is that this is not a book simply about that research, but rather a call to do something about the research that Gary L. McIntosh uncovered. It is a call to the church and individual believers to reach out to those around us with purpose. A purpose specifically to reach them with the Gospel of Christ.
One of the things I did appreciate most about this book is that it is a book about true church growth - not by mere numbers that walk through the doors of a church, but rather the number of people who come to faith in Jesus through how we interact with them. Highly recommended. I received a copy of this book in exchange for this review from Baker Books and all opinions are my own.
