- God of All Creation: Life Lessons from Pets and Wildlife by C.Jean on 9/2/12
“God of All Creation” is a compilation of stories about animals. One of the main characters is “Princess” a miniature dachshund owned by James and Betty Robison. James shares stories of their beloved dog, and other animals in wildlife and with the insights he shares a glimpse of how God sees us.
Being that I just obtained my first dog since childhood, I thought this would be a great book to read. Dogs are so full of antics and I, too, have seen with our dog, a revelation of God’s love for us. I laughed as James told of a mat they own that states, “Caution: Dog Cannot Hold It’s Licker.” My heart was warmed as he related Princess’ desire to be near her master as she “thrust her nose under (his) hand, wanting (him) to pet her.” He shared his impression that this is how God would like us to approach Him each morning. Eager to be near Him, desiring Him to guide us and direct us.
I especially appreciated the stories about Princess. My hopes were that it would be a little more stories and a little less preaching. It was an easy read and might make a good book to give to or read to an older child who loves animals.
"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review."
