- No Feeling :( by JOSIE on 9/9/2013
This film has beautiful settings and costumes but poor dramatization. It seemed as if the actors were reading off the script. The story line didn't accurately reflect Ruth & Naomi's relationship, how it build, and Boaz. Well Boaz was just poorly portrayed in this film. Keep reading your bible on this one ;)
- I love the book of Ruth but was disappointed by this portrayal by Nan on 9/2/2013
I was disappointed when I saw this version of the book of Ruth, although Ruth is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Although parts of the movie were good, I was mostly disappointed with the portrayal of Boaz by Carmen. Yes, he did make it "modern" - probably too modern.
- So good by Bobbie on 8/29/2013
My favorite book, my husband and I both have aunt Ruth's, and my dad is Edgar. Ruth..different I know, I guess their parents also liked this book...beautifully told
- Fantastic by Sunni San Diego on 4/24/2012
They took an old story and made it modern...to an extent. It was wonderful!
- Lots of inaccuracies by Terry on 12/1/2011
I wanted to like this movie! I just did a bible study on Ruth! Mara smiles all the time and never seems bitter. Naomi didn't seem to know that Ruth was gleeming on Boaz' field initially?!
As pure entertainment its good--better than what is out there in theaters now. Just think of veggietales for adults--you get the basic concepts--and maybe this entertaining format will lead people to open up their bibles!
