Why is forgiveness so hard?

People who refuse to forgive often sabotage their future and create an emotional cancer that spreads into every other aspect of their lives. Even those who genuinely desire to forgive often struggle to get beyond their wounded emotions.

In Forgive, Let Go, and Live, Deborah Pegues provides specific guidelines to help us better understand:

  • what forgiveness is and what it's not
  • how to overcome seemingly unforgivable hurts
  • when to restore, redefine, or release a hurtful relationship
  • how it's possible to forgive without forgetting
  • why learning how to forgive is a process

Pegues showcases the triumphs of famous and everyday people as well as biblical characters who decided to pursue forgiveness and also the tragedies of those who chose to wallow in anger and revenge.

If you've been wounded by another, this book will empower you to find joy, freedom, and peace as you let go of your desire to avenge the wrong and make a commitment to release the offender from his debt.

I love the cover of this book Butterflies have a special meaning for me as I belong to a woman’s group of butterflies. For me it tells a story of caterpillars changing into beautiful butterflies, others just stay caterpillars and ugly. It’s a woman’s Bible group.
We’ve all done something against someone that we should go to them and ask forgiveness from them for what we’ve done then we are set free from bondage or maybe someone has done something to you that hurt you or they betrayed you and you’d like for them to come to you right? Jesus forgave each and every one of us for our sins and he wants us to do the same to those who trespass against us. It’s hard to forgive isn’t it? Yes I know I’ve been there on both sides of the fence.
There are consequences for unforgiveness, it says that in the bible. So I am learning through this book that forgiveness is very important to God, but I knew that when I was young my dad always said forgive doesn’t mean you have to forget the hurt someone caused you but forgive and the hurt will turn into peace for you.
There’s four parts to this book then at the back of the book there are prayers that address variety of hurts and offenses and will guide you in praying to release the person who has harmed you and to stands in faith for your deliverances from unforgiveness.
There is so much beauty in this book that you really need to get this book. Through these scripture-based prayers and faith declaration, God will turn your ashes into beauty.
BECOME A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY!!!
I received this beautiful book free from Harvest House for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just and honest one. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else’s.
