ED’S STORY: Film One
- It Ain't Over
Ed’s journey is remarkably similar to yours. That’s because Ed’s Story is our story. The psalmist wrote, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid," but as Ed admits, that’s far easier said than done. In this 7-part short film series, Ed wrestles through the inevitable issues that suffering raises. And while the struggle has a gut-level honesty, what emerges in his discoveries can best be described as hope. Ed’s goal with these 7 films is simple: by sharing his story - and his unique perspective - Ed hopes to help others ask questions about their own struggles that will ultimately help them realize that no matter what they’re facing, there is hope.
Ed’s Story is a new 7-part film series featuring pastor and author Ed Dobson. Ten Years ago doctors diagnosed Dobson with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and gave him 3-5 years to live, most of which he was told would be in a disabled state.
Difficult circumstances are everywhere. Lost jobs, strained and broken relationships, foreclosures, and prodigal children, we all feel pain - perhaps now more than ever. And the thing about difficult circumstances is that they change us. For better or worse, we are different.
ED’S STORY: Film Two
- Consider the Birds
Sometimes worry can come in waves and be overwhelming. We try so hard to control our lives, when in face we have no control over the future. Ed discovered that it is hard to find God when we are worried about tomorrow; but when we live in the moment, He is right there with us.
ED’S STORY: Film Three
- Be There
When people around us suffer, it's only natural to want to help. But what can you say when someone's life falls apart and suffering becomes their reality? Ed learned that sometimes the answer is to "show up and shut up." Perhaps just being present can bring more comfort, peace, and a sense of God's presence than words ever could.
