When the mayor denies the allegations, Tony gets demoted to a Community Section fluff writer. His first assignment in his new diminished role is to report on the preparations for Gay Pride Day.
Tony's challenge is to complete the assignment and make his boss happy and to honor God at the same time. The fearless leader in the local gay pride day promises the reporter a "get out of jail free" card if he earnestly prepares to intelligently discuss the issue of their difference in world views and Tony's rejection of the homosexual lifestyle.
This motivates Tony to dive into his Bible and heart for answers. Tony shows up knowing he is not ready and faces an intellectual fencing match that continues for two days. When the last rebuttal is issued Tony goes home to do some soul searching. Should he turn in the story he was assigned or something more profound?
