Doubt seeks to destroy our faith. It is in our discouragement—even despair—that we begin to question God. “What did I do wrong?” “Lord did you call me to this place of confusion?” “Where is my joy and hope?” “Are you even real or just a figment of my imagination?” Left to its natural conclusion doubt crushes our faith in Christ.

As a follower of Jesus Christ your expressions will probably include God’s faithfulness, love of family and gratitude for your salvation. A Christian’s quality of love for Christ makes their love for anyone else pale in comparison. The Lord expects this level of love, because He knows all other degrees of love benefit from beginning with Him. The love you have for your spouse becomes more significant when you see them through the eyes of the love they have for your Savior.
