Jonathan Cahn is a messianic Jewish Rabbi and pastor, best known for his best selling book The Harbinger. The Harbinger compares the United States and the September 11 attacks, to the ancient Israel and the destruction of Kingdom of Israel. In particular Cahn sees Isaiah 9:10 as a prophetic warning to America.
Jonathan Cahn was born in New Jersey and grew up Jewish, attending the synagogue frequently. When he was 8, Jonathan became an atheist, but at the age of 12 began to question atheism. At 20, Cahn accepted Jesus and became a messianic Jew. After college, Cahn ministered to the New York City homeless for many years. In 1988 he started Hope of the World ministries, an outreach of the Gospel and compassion projects for the needy.
