Bob Miller

Bob & Sue Miller grew up in a small Amish community in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Christian teaching and good home cooking were part of their upbringing, a heritage which continued when they established their own home.
In 1971 the Millers opened Das Dutchman Essenhaus, a six-day Amish restaurant, complete with Amish and Mennonite cooks and wait-staff.
What began as a small restaurant has expanded into one of Indiana's largest and finest restaurants, a bakery, a country inn, numerous shops, and a wholesale food business; employing as many as 450 during the tourist season.
