In 1983 Bob Aldridge, a World War II veteran and a design engineer on the Polaris and Trident missiles, realized that as a Christian it was abhorrent for him to work on first-strike weapons and so he resigned his job in what was then called "the defense industry" and wrote "First Strike: The Pentagon's Strategy for Nuclear War." Ever since then Bob has dedicated himself to be what Christ demands of us all--being a peacemaker in a nation that loves its firepower.
