ANDREW NUGENT, OSB, took legal degrees at University College Dublin and at King s Inns and qualified as a barrister. In 1961, after two years in legal practice, he entered Glenstal Abbey, Limerick. From 1964-1968, he studied theology at the University of Strasbourg, France. It was the era of Vatican II, when everything seemed possible, and it culminated in the Student Revolution of 1968 in France. He was ordained priest in August 1968 and is now a Benedictine monk.
