Alvin D. Hammond
For sixteen years Al Hammond and his family served as missionaries to Japan in both church planting and the editing of an open forum magazine which exchanged views on cultural mores and mission methods. In 1970 Al was called to chair the mission department at San Jose Christian College (renamed William Jessup University), where he served for thirtyfour years. He has tried to close the gap between theory and practice by guiding students to Asian countries during the summers.
