Four years after a tragic mission decimated his career and his team, Cole "Tox" Russell is "persona non grata" to the United States. And that's fine--he just wants to be left alone. But when a dormant, centuries-old disease is unleashed, Tox is lured back into action.
Partnered with FBI agent Kasey Cortes, Tox has to pull together a team to begin a globe-spanning search for answers--and a cure. As their quest leads them from continent to continent, it slowly becomes clear they're not just fighting a plague--but battling against an ancient secret society whose true goals remain hidden.
With time running out and opposition growing on every side, the key to everything may rest in an antique codex, the Crown of Jerusalem--but will Tox and his team be able to trust each other enough to break this century-spanning conspiracy of silence?

- Love These Characters! by Paige N on 1/6/2017
I just finished this book and I really enjoyed it! Conspiracy of Silence is full of action, excitement, and adventure. Set in locations around the world, this book makes me feel like I've been on a multi-continental trip. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. I especially enjoy the relationships and interactions between them. The plot hinges around an intriguing mystery that must be solved or the world will face dire consequences. This book was hard to put down until the final chapter. Even though it is the first in a series, the conclusion leaves the reader satisfied. Well-written with noble and heroic characters, I highly recommend this book. I'm already looking forward to reading the next one!
I was provided a copy of the book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
- Exciting Read! by Ashley on 1/4/2017
Secret organizations+Biblical history+a dangerous virus=Conspiracy of Silence.
Conspiracy of Silence is very exciting. Wow. The action is nonstop and you’re never sure who to trust. There are tons of twists that resulted in me quickly turning pages to figure out what happened next.
Also, I loved the fact that Biblical history and archeology played a big role in the plot. The book frequently refers to the book of Numbers, and I appreciated reading a book where the Bible events are regarded as history.
I’ve read several Christian mystery books, and I’ve noticed that a lot of them have overpowering romance elements . Not so with Conspiracy of Silence. Romance is present, but it doesn’t dominate the story. I do feel like the relationship could have been developed a little bit better, but overall I was pleased that the actual mystery was given the highest priority.
If you enjoy quick-paced suspense novels, I think you’ll like Conspiracy of Silence!
Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a copy of Conspiracy of Silence! The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
- Explosive & Non-stop! by Emilie on 12/28/2016
Explosive and non-stop - Ronie Kendig has done it again with Conspiracy of Silence!
Following on the heels of her FREE novella Warrior’s Seal, we jump straight in to a high-octane adventure following the determined and slightly mysterious Cole “Tox” Russell. Woven together with archeological clues, threads of romance, and rocketing suspense at every corner, you won’t be able to put this book down until the end.
I really enjoyed Tox’s character development in this story. There is still a lot that is mysterious about him, yet we were able to get a window into his past. I also love the team dynamic – no one does it better than Ronie when it comes to hunky team members with a ton of character. I love how separate they all are and yet how well they fit together.
Then, of course, there was the romance. Not as much as in her previous books sadly, but still zinging where it was brought out. I would love to see more in the next book, but I’m a sucker for romance in general! I think the balance was good in this first book though. It felt realistic when there is a big mission to be focusing on, you’re not going to always be thinking of “the girl” but more “the mission”. So I do appreciate the real-ness.
I also loved how fast-paced Conspiracy was. There was never a dull moment and that led to many pages (and chapters) read long after I should have been sleeping.
If you are a fan of suspense, military fiction, or anything Ronie’s written in the past – this book will not disappoint! Think of it like a mix between David Baldacci, James Rollins, and Ronie’s classic rapid-fire fiction. Her writing is clear, succinct, compelling, and just right for the action-packed thrill ride I expect to take for a story of this magnitude.

- Christian Shelf-Esteem's review of Conspiracy of Silence by Amanda on 12/24/2016
Ronie Kendig comes at readers with fast and furious action in her latest novel Conspiracy of Silence. In a sort of Indiana Jones/Jason Bourne mashup, a reunited paramilitary team partners with the FBI and two archeologists to neutralize an assassin while trying to halt a deadly plague. Readers get a boots on the ground experience in 7 countries in just over two weeks — no passport required.
I see Conspiracy of Silence as a barrier breaker for Christian fiction. To begin, Ronie Kendig is a woman writing the most intense and realistic close combat scenes imaginable. This is due in part to Kendig’s own knowledge of martial arts (she’s a first degree black belt
- mind-blowing awesome by Mark on 12/23/2016
I have been a big fan of Ronie Kendig's books since I read the first one she published, Dead Reckoning, a suspense/political intrigue type book. Then she took to writing miltary suspense type books, or paramilitary, and I was hooked. She is an author who gets better with each book and series she puts out, so I have been eagerly anticipating not only this new book in a new series, but also her first release from Bethany House Publishing.
Awesome is a word that gets overused and is thrown around carelessly, but there really is no better word to describe this book. Actually, mind-blowing awesome is a better term.
Kendig does something different in this book that is new ground for her: the book starts out a long time before the actual story..... as in Bible times. She uses the story of Korah in the Bible to launch this new book and series, and she also uses a lot of history and even some of the supernatural. Plagues, curses, Templar Knights, and more find their way across the pages of this book. Add to all of that special ops, FBI, Mossad, secret organizations, and a lot of suspense, action, and drama, and you have a novel that is near impossible to put down.
This is her 4th military series, and I would think it would get difficult to come up with different characters and make up a team of these characters that are different from the other series, but she has done that. The guys who make up this very special and unique team of soldiers is the most unique and awesome (yeah, that word again) so far. She has created a believable, yet outstanding character in her main hero of the story, Cole, or "Tox" Russell. The dynamic and interaction between this team of men who are a tad bit antagonistic towards their leader, yet trusting and respectful is entertaining and very cool to observe as you read this masterpiece of fiction.
The story goes all over the map from the White House to archaeological sites in Syria to Israel. The action is non-stop, and through it all is an undercurrent of a Christian theme.
Conspiracy of Silence is by far the best book I have read in 2016, and is most likely the last book I will read this year....... and what a way to finish my reading experience for the year. I honestly cannot say enough good about this book, and I am not exaggerating.....this book is really mind-blowing awesome.
No Ronie Kendig book would be complete without a romantic element adding extra drama to the story, but she does it a way that I found myself hoping a certain guy would make a move for a certain guy, and found myself cheering when.....well, read it and you'll see.
Speaking of cheering, when I finished the book, I gave it a rousing hand-clap of appreciation. Mrs. Kendig has outdone herself and has much to be proud of for the results of her hard work. I am definitely looking forward to reading more in this series and seeing where she is going to take this unique and powerful team of men.
There is an e-book novella that precedes this novel, and I would highly recommend reading it first. The last I knew, it was free.. so download it: The Warrior's Seal.
And as I have said in previous reviews of her books, these are definitely books men will enjoy, but women also will enjoy them.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
- Brilliant suspense! by Abbi on 12/22/2016
I swear Ronie just keeps getting better and better! I have been an avid fan of hers since I read Dead Reckoning back in 2010 and I've loved every book she has written since. If I would have had my way I would have sat down with this book the second it arrived and not gotten up till it was done, but unfortunately with the craziness of my life right now it took me what seemed like forever to finally be able to finish it. And Tox had to travel with me several places including work, a tire place, and to have my oil changed. I always hated having to put it down because I was on the edge of my seat from page one. I loved the premise behind this new series from the fact that almost everyone believed the hero had been dead for years to the whole plague aspect, and the unique biblical spin on it all. I got to meet Tox and his team in the prequel novella and they all intrigued me greatly. Tox has a very tough exterior but he cares deeply about those close to him and will do anything and everything it takes to protect them and for that I greatly admired him. He kinda got the short end of the stick and I really couldn't blame him for his gruffness at all. His team was a very diverse group and I would love to get more of all of their stories, especially Ram. Tzivia and Kasey were both great characters but I like Kasey a little more and I really hope she and Tox end up together.
This story was brilliantly and beautifully crafted from start to finish in typical Kendig style and I recommend it for anyone who loves an adventure, male and female alike! Though make sure to read the prequel novella first since they are extremely connected!
I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
- Great Read by Dancing Violet on 12/17/2016
Wow! This book was amazing and well-written. I never had any idea where this story was going, which I liked. It was hard to put down, though sometimes there was so much going on that I would have to put it down to try to absorb everything that was happening.
Conspiracy of Silence and The Warrior’s Seal were my introduction to this author, and I am looking forward to more from this series. I’ve never read anything like this. It ties the military, archaeological discoveries, and events from the Bible. It was fascinating!

- GOD hears what's in silence by Carol on 11/18/2016
This book is intensely brilliant, downright dangerous and absolutely outrageously fearless. Tox has had to play dead for the last three years for the sake of the team - he took the fall for the last mission and in order for them to wipe clean the teams records he would have to take the blame - but he also died - now he has to come out of his death spiral as it where - there is a threat to his family that takes him to life again per se. - and back into another mission. This mission has to do with terrorism and the deadly plagues as well as ancient artifacts. Tox being in hiding for all those years and the team thinking him dead left them feeling non plussed and not knowing how to react to him - but with GOD all things are possible. GOD puts people in his way to help him make it all the way and survive. He uses FBI agents, mission leaders and archaeologists Tzivia Khalon and Dr. Joseph Cathey. GOD can move mountains - and HE does. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
