I really wanted to like this movie. I purchased it after reading all the great reviews. Sadly, I did not like it. It was very slow paced. I did not like the actor's portrayal of Jesus. He came across as a bit of a wimp. There was very little character development for any of the characters. At one point "Jesus" says that he is only there for the angry businessman because the of the man's grandmother's prayers for him. Really? Jesus isn't there because he loves the man and wants to save him? The situations presented were too easily and quickly resolved. The one I was most invested in, the divorcing couple, was just brushed off with a quick "pray about it." This was very disappointing.

I was in the Family Christian store and was ready to check out , when my sister said you have to get this movie and watch it. she said her kids loved it and so I got the movie and my kids are ages , 14 and 17 and they liked the movie so much that we are watching it again tonite. Great Movie! cant wait to see part 2

I watch this movie with my boyfriend who I have been praying to come to God ... He loved the movie & I watched it again with my 13 year old & 7 year old both understood it , sparked awesome conversations & it answered many questions for all of us too ! Definate must have !!!

I, along with my family & friends, found this movie amazing. I've watched it AT LEAST 2 dozen times and loaned it out to others to share with their families. They will be thrilled to find it on sale; I even plan to buy a second copy as I usually find myself wanting to watch it when it's loaned out. Looking forward to the release of the sequel, Encounter II, Paradise Lost, due for release 9/18/12. It is said to be "definitely darker and more violent than the original" but I do want to see it.

I watched this movie with my 15 year old and her friend, the conversations this movie sparked where amazing. It gave us an opportunity to imagine what it would be like if Jesus where here in human form and how it would be to converse with Him.

This was a great movie. There were situations that most people could identify with even those who choose not to believe. It's about choices we make in life and choosing Jesus is always the right choice! Everyone I've shared this movie with loved it.

This is a really good movie. I have watched it at least 6 times, and I don't usually like to watch movies over and over. The actor who plays Jesus is really good at showing how Jesus would respond with compassion and patience. I recommend this movie.
