Kept Me on the Edge of my Seat! by Katie on 7/5/2016

Topping my favorites list for romantic suspense, this book is one of the best modern suspense novels I have read! It was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't put the book down because I simply had to know what was going to happen next. Author Lynette Eason leaves the reader guessing about what will happen next as she takes you through the twists and turns of this insane thriller. It is a race against death, will Olivia and the Elite Guardians be able to stop Wade Savage's stalker before it's too late? Though this book is labeled romantic suspense and that's indeed what it is, it isn't focused solely on Wade and Olivia's romance, it was focused more on surviving the eyes and mind of those always watching. I enjoyed both immensely. The characters were very likeable, especially Wade's daughter Amy, not only was she likeable but she was very relatable since she dealt with anxiety. I appreciate Ms. Eason's effort she put into bringing to life the struggles of her character. This book was my cup of coffee to say the least but I must warn you that if you don't like high suspense with shooting and more, than this book probably isn't for you. However if that's something you enjoy than I highly, highly recommend this book to you! My personal rating five stars! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Review from Rambles of a SAHM by Fitzysmom on 3/29/2016

Lynette Eason has a new series! If you're looking for a fast-paced, thrill-seeking, spine-tingling, heart-pumping story just pick up one of her books. The exciting part about the new Elite Guardians series is that the main characters are women.

Olivia Edwards has put together a team of strong women to make up her private security company. In this first installment we get a peek at each of the members but the story focuses on Olivia herself. The client in this book is radio personality Wade Savage. How's that for a fun new twist . . . a woman guarding a man?

About halfway through the book I kind of had an inkling about what was going on but there were still details that I hadn't quite put together. I really liked how Ms. Eason wove in some back story about Olivia to add depth. It not only made this particular book interesting but it also made me anticipate the rest of the series.

Speaking of the rest of the series . . . there's a chapter preview for Without Warning, the next book in the series, at the back of the book. If that little snippet is any indication this whole series is going to be a winner. I can't wait to share it with my group of fellow book lovers.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Welcome to the Edge of Your Seat! by Doreen on 2/28/2016

I have read a lot of Lynette Eason's books in the past, especially those in series, so I was very excited to hear she had a new series coming out! She did not disappoint. Her new Elite Guardians Series is about an all female Bodyguard Agency. The four friends and co-workers have been part of law enforcement in the past and now have formed a group which is available for hire. They each come with all sorts of abilities and connections that can help in varying situations. I assume each book in the series will focus on one of the four women, and in this case, in "Always Watching," the main character was Olivia. Olivia was a strong female character, who didn't like to show her fears or weaknesses, but she had them. As we got to know Olivia and her history, it was easy to see why she had built up walls around herself. Her not-so-willing client, Wade, tried to break down some of her walls and get to know her. Meanwhile, he and his young daughter were in danger and trying to stay one step ahead of a stalker. I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this first book of the series. All through the story, there were clues and plenty of "red herrings" to keep me guessing. I kept changing my mind about who I thought could be stalking Wade. A woman? A man? Or both? For what reason? I have to say, I did guess some of the things that were coming, and was partially correct in the ending, but I was never quite sure of myself until I finished it.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I give Always Watching five stars -- I loved it!! The only problem is, I have to wait too long for the second book to be published!

Always Watching is Part of a Great New Series! by Robin on 2/22/2016

Always Watching
Lynette Eason

Book Summary: The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have more than just skill and prowess in common--they're also all women. When it becomes clear that popular psychiatrist and radio personality Wade Savage has a stalker, his father secretly hires Elite Guardians in order to protect his son. But when Wade's bodyguard is attacked and nearly killed, agency owner Olivia Edwards must step in and fill the gap. Olivia's skills are about to be tested to the limit as Wade's stalker moves from leaving innocent gifts at his door to threatening those closest to him. Olivia has the feeling that she's next on the list. And to complicate things even further, she realizes that her heart may be in as much danger as her client.

Review: This was a great read!! Fast paced but not so fast I had to put it away to keep my heart from racing so fast. I loved the story. The stalking that escalates. How does he/she know when, where and what the victim is doing. I did guess the who, but it was great to see it all come together. Olivia and Wade were great together. I found the various incidents were heart pounding enough and the breathing room in between was necessary. I liked the way the story unfolded without giving away too much. The whole reveal of who the stalker was and the accomplice got revealed in parts and was very clever. The ending was suspenseful and the whole book was exciting. Great start to the a new series. Can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Fast Paced by Claudia on 2/15/2016

The Elite Guardians, bodyguards led by Olivia Edwards, are always watching over their client, radio personality, Wade Savage. Unfortunately, Wade’s stalker is equally vigilant in watching his every move. As the stalker begins to expand his, or is it her, focus to include Wade’s young daughter, Amy, and one of his bodyguards is severely injured in an attack outside the radio station, Olivia is forced to call in back up from local law enforcement. Even with the extra resources, much of Olivia’s time is spent with Wade, and the growing attraction is undeniable. Will the attraction prove too much of a distraction, and will that lead to deadly consequences? After all, Wade has done something to make the stalker very angry.
When reviews are posted on web sites, the reviewer is often asked to give a star rating of the book or product. When considering the number of stars I consider how well the item being reviewed met my expectations and how pleased I was with it. Well, if I were to give Always Watching a star rating, and I was comparing it to how other mysteries I’ve read over the last few years met my expectations and provided reading pleasure, I would give it four stars. However, if I were to compare it with the last two Lynette Eason books I’d read from her Hidden Identity series, I would probably give it three stars. As mysteries in general go, Always Watching is a great read, but for my reading pleasure it was less engaging than Nowhere to Turn and No One to Trust. I found the characters to be less endearing and the events less realistic. Am I saying that I wouldn’t recommend this book, absolutely not. It simply is not my favorite Lynette Eason book. Will I read the next book in this series, certainly; after all it’s a Lynette Eason book.

Really Really Good!!!!! by Leah on 2/8/2016

I can honestly say that Always Watching the best suspense book I have read in a very long time. It is such a different suspense as it does not have the FBI instead Lynette Eason has established a new team called the Elite Guardians. And I am most defiantly excited to be reading more in this series. It is fast paced and kept me turning page like crazy.

Olivia Edwards is a a great character and she has her world of pain of secrets that Lynette Eason weaves into the story. I did like the fact that she was the on saving people instead of the one being saved.

Wade Savage was great. He was not the usual good-looking/tall/muscled FBI agent that falls in love with someone who need saving. Instead he was just a character was living a pretty normal life and that made it seem more relatable and eye catching.

The only section in the book that did not grip me was the ending, in reality no suspense book I have ever read has a good enough ending because we have been building up to it for hundreds of pages and we form unrealistic exception to what it should be. I thought the end in this book seemed a tiny but rushed, but that was all that I could pick out as something that I did not like.

Overall this is an amazing book, I loved it and I highly highly recommend it to all of you who love romantic suspense.

I received this book for free form Revell in exchange for my honest reviews.

Ever Feel Like Somebody's Watching You? by Tickmenot on 2/5/2016

Wade Savage has it all. This single dad is good looking, rich, an excellent psychiatrist, and hosts a popular radio show. He also has something else: a stalker, one who has been steadily becoming more dangerous.

At first, the gifts and notes Wade had been getting were thought to be from a fan of his show. But then they took a more sinister turn, and began to be directed at his twelve-year-old daughter, Amy, as well. Whoever is doing this knows their daily schedules, their favorite foods, even the exact size clothing Amy wears. The evidence is mounting that the stalker must be someone who knows them well, maybe even a trusted friend, but who?

Wade now finds Amy and himself in the midst of a tsunami of peril as danger from the stalker seems to escalate by the minute. Despite a crack team of private body guards, along with help from the police, the murderous attempts against them are rapidly increasing. Can they figure out who is behind this before anyone is killed?

The case is made more complicated because of Amy's panic attacks. Up until now, following a predictable schedule has helped her have less episodes. However, one of the best ways to protect the Savage family is to change their routines, making it harder for the stalker to find them. Wade is concerned changing things will hurt Amy, but he wants them to be safe, too. Which option will he choose?

This edge-of-your-seat story will keep you turning pages right up to the end in an effort to discover the true culprit. You might be as surprised as the Savage family when that person is revealed. I appreciated that this tale was told from a Christian viewpoint, and some characters were included that rely on God to help them. This 5-star book is recommended to those who like fast-paced suspense stories.

LOVED IT!!!!! by Tracie on 2/3/2016

Lynette Eason has done it again! Always Watching, the first book in her new Elite Guardians series, was incredible! The action never slowed down. The book grabbed by attention in the first sentence and did not let go. There were so many twists and turns throughout the book that I was left guessing until the end. I thought I had the mystery solved several times only to find that my guessing was incorrect. I love to read mystery/suspense and not have the book figured out in the first few pages.
The book is about a female bodyguard company. Their client, Wade Savage, is a popular psychiatrist and radio personality. When one of the bodyguards has an attempt on her life, Olivia Edwards takes over his protection detail. The chemistry between Wade and Olivia is believable and enduring. They both have back stories that lend to interesting conversations between them. The development of their stories and the way Eason reveals details is brilliant!
Without Warning, the second in the Elite Guardian series, is set to come out in the summer of 2016. It is definitely on my “to be read” list!

Full of Action by Maureen on 2/2/2016

Always Watching is a heart stopper of a story, and action starts on the first page and doesn’t stop until the end. You won’t be able to put it down, and if you have to, you will be picking it right back up as fast as you can, it’s a I have to know what is happening type of story.
Who would want to hurt a generous man with a young daughter, whom has lost her mother, and a woman she loved that was going to marry her dad? Wade Savage’s father has hired Olivia Edwards Elite Guardians to protect his son, he has a stalker, with people being attacked, and suspicious deaths, and you never know what is going to happen next.
If you love suspense this is the book for you, it gives and give right to the end. You will make up your mind, and I was sure I knew whom was responsible, but guess what, I was very wrong, and very surprised to whom was the culprit.
This is as fast pace as you can get, and still have an even flowing story, picking this one up might keep you up at night, but you will not be disappointed.

Christian Shelf-Esteem's review of Always Watching by Amanda on 2/1/2016

I’m on a suspense fiction kick and Lynette Eason just added fuel to the flame. My copy of Always Watching appeared in our mailbox on Friday. The timing was perfect because we were just leaving on a road trip. Now I’m not the fastest reader, so it’s saying a lot when I tell you that I’ve read this book in two days. I couldn’t put it down. It was fast-paced. Engaging. Entertaining.

Always Watching is the first book in a new series based on a team of specially trained female bodyguards. Investigative and surveillance skills, bomb detection, brains, and daring — this team of women has it all. With 10 years of military service myself, I applaud women who take on non-traditional roles and pull them off with professionalism and finesse.

If I’m right, each book in the Elite Guardian Series will focus on a different team member. Clearly this was Olivia’s story by design, but I would have enjoyed a little more interplay/camaraderie among the team members. On the flip side, the author’s intense focus on one character allowed for dynamic development both emotionally and spiritually. Perhaps as the series progresses, the team itself will be as compelling as each individual member.

As a new-to-me author Lynette Eason has earned a spot among my favorite suspense authors like Ronie Kendig, Lisa Harris, and Dani Pettrey. What sets these authors apart is their ability to keep a thread of tension throughout a story — something Eason has done impeccably well. Another aspect of her writing that reminds me of the other authors mentioned before is her ability to propel a storyline using character dialogue. The dialogue between her characters was fluid, varied, and natural. To top it all, this book is punctuated with numerous high-action/high-suspense scenes.

I anticipate more great reads from the Elite Guardian Series and Lynette Eason. Without Warning (Book #2) releases in August and has already garnered a spot on my to-read list.

Fast-Paced and Action-Packed until the end by Ellie Faye on 1/23/2016

When popular psychiatrist and radio host Wade Savage starts receiving suspicious gifts at his home, his father secretly hires the Elite Guardians Agency to protect him from a potential stalker. Suddenly, the stalker begins to target everyone closest to Wade, including the body guard assigned to him. Agency owner Olivia Edwards takes control of the case when her employee is drugged and critically injured in the line of duty. Will her skills and expertise in the field be enough to outsmart a clever opponent, and will her emerging feelings for Wade prove to be a blessing or dangerous distraction?
Lynette Easton’s Always Watching takes readers on a fast-paced, suspenseful adventure with plenty of twists and turns. While the story itself was most definitely action-packed, Easton’s characters were still well-developed and complex. Additionally, Olivia’s journey back to her Christian faith was compelling without being overtly preachy, and the love story between she and Wade was entertaining without taking over the plot. At times, however, the dialogue seemed awkward, and the nearly constant and poorly marked changes in narrative perspective caused some confusion. That said, this novel will keep the reader guessing and engaged until the very last page.
I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
