In Second Chances, Jack & Elizabeth are trying to get back to their relationship after Elizabeth was duped by Billy. Their relationship is one of friendship but also budding romance that is trying to get past their disagreements. I think that the actors have wonderful chemistry and they hook you into their romance.
The aftershocks of the mining accident are still being felt in Coal Valley. You meet a father who survived the accident and has been hiding his injury from his family. And you also see how Abigail is struggling to keep her row home and the memories of her family who was lost in the accident. Abigail & Elizabeth's friendship is further developed through this.
The story line is compelling and the plot has a great pace. And yes, it is more of a "chick flick" type series, but one that you don't have to worry about content around your kids with good "old fashioned" values. There's action, some clean romance, and great life lessons about faith, truthfulness, friendship, and family.
I have truly loved every minute of this series!
