- Absolutely wonderful! by Carol on 2/23/15
This book poured over my spirit like a healing balm. Using the story of the prodigal son, Kyle Idleman encourages anyone who waits for their prodigal's return. The solid teaching gave me new insight to the old Bible story. Instead of a good son vs a bad son, I saw the heart of a Father who's love never fails. The prayers at the end of each section gave me new insight as to how to pray for my child. The testimonies inside gave me encouragement to keep on loving and praying and fattening the calf in anticipation of my prodigal's return. This book is short enough to review frequently, and the book is small enough to tuck in my purse or Bible case. I can't recommend this book enough for parents who wait for their prodigal's return.
- Praying for Your Prodigal shows parents how to pray for their prodigal and shares prayers of those who have gone through this. by Teresa on 8/11/14
Kyle Idleman, continues his message of the prodigal son from his book, AHA, in Praying For Your Prodigal. He shares with us prayers and stories of others who are or have gone through this situation themselves. Each chapter of the book breaks down the steps from understanding that one has gone as far as he or she can, recognizing what is needed, to resolving the situation. What does it take to realize one has gone as far as he or she can go? What actions are required to resolve the problem? Idleman shows his readers how he or she can do this using God's word.
The book is short, so it isn't a long read, but is a thought provoking work. This is a book for all who have a loved one who needs an AHA moment. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to parents and prodigals.
I received this book from Family Christian Bookstore for my review.
