Abducted is a continuation of the Pacific Coast Justice series by Janice Cantore. As a former police officer, Cantore contributes experienced police procedures that bring a sense of authenticity to her book. Carly is a police officer in the Las Playas area. She and her partner Joe get a call that Joe's wife and baby son have been taken to the hospital. While Joe is with his wife, caring for her, Joe's son is kidnapped from the hospital. Carly is thrown full force into a search for her partner's son. Carly is required to work with her ex-husband Nick, who together, are trying to reconcile their marriage. Just as things are making progress, Nick pulls back and starts shutting Carly out.

This book doesn't lack adventure, that's for sure. For being part of a series, which I hadn't the opportunity to read the first one, I was not at all lost or felt that I was missing vital information. There were several points were things were mentioned from the previous book, but Cantore wrote enough to keep you in the loop. Overall I wasn't entire thrilled with this book. This book didn't draw me in as most suspense novels do. The characters in this book were just that, names on paper. I didn't feel any connection to them. I would be hesitant to recommend this to anyone, but I also wouldn't discourage someone from reading it.
