Grandmother Ruth’s Christmas Cookies

Who doesn’t love love their Grandmother’s Christmas cookie recipe? I remember making “teacakes” (sugar cookies) with my MeMaw growing up and it’s one of my very favorite memories! My friend Liz Smith shared this recipe with me to share with you! She is one of the BEST cooks that I know, so I knew she would have a great recipe to share!

 

Cookie Ingredients:

3/4 c. Soft Butter

1 1/2 c. Light Brown Sugar

1 Egg

3 Cups Flour

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Salt

Icing Ingredients: 

2 cups Confectioner Sugar

1/2 tsp Vanilla

2 tablespoons Milk


Instructions:

  • Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix Ingredients, roll out dough, & use your favorite cookie cutters!
    • Do not refrigerate
  • Place your cookie dough cut-outs on a cookie pan & place in the oven.
  • Bake until slightly browned (9-10 minutes.)
  • Ice when fully cooled.
